The aim for these people is to raise money through fun events to support our helpers/partners at competitions. All money raised at these events goes into a separate bank account held by the friends and does not go through the actual dancentre.
All money raised is shared out several times in a year to those people who partner your children, grand children, Husband, Wife, Girlfriend, Boyfriend etc. At places like Blackpool Qualifiers and Finals.
More often than not the actual partner who is partnering on the day isn't actually dancing for themselves they are there to assist the dancer, they also have had to get to the competition and pay for a ticket to get in, so the more we can earn through these events, the more we can assist in the cost of the partners getting to these competitions.
During the run up to Blackpool the Friends of Diamond Dance Centre also run a Pounds for Partners scheme.
This scheme was set up to give a little something back to those partners who give up there free time to partner our children, grand children, Husband, Wife, Girlfriend, Boyfriend etc.
Again even though this money is paid at the till of the Dance centre it doesn't go to them but straight to the Friends and they distribute to the partners just before the competition.
Please support the friends as much as you can it may be your child one day who is partnering and we all know that a few extra quid always helps!
FRIENDS NEWSLETTER
Over the past year the FRIENDS have been trying to generate funds that could be used to help with some of the hidden expenditure within the Dance Centre, which keeps the costs down for all of us.
We have had some successful fundraising. Some much better than others, but every little counts!!!
Please take a look at the figures below, detailing all funds that have passed through the FRIENDS account.

As you can see, just a little profit has been made throughout the year, but the funding has helped greatly towards certain areas and the events that we have run have been well attended and so much fun to be a part of.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank everybody who may have helped, participated in or even just supported our events.
We cannot do anything without you!!!
With that in mind, we would like to progress our fundraising in 2012 with the following events:
Saturday 10th March Family Night – fun & games for all ages
Friday 23rd March Girls Night Out – over 18s only
Saturday 16th June Friends Fest!! – To be held at Mychett Community Centre
Saturday 10th November Fish ‘n’ chip night
Saturday 15th December Xmas function – TBA

We would like to attend a few ‘Car Boot Sales’ to generate funds from outside of the school, but this would require the help of other people, so if you’re interested in helping with this or any other event in the future or even if you have an idea of your own, please speak to one of the FRIENDS committee members or send an email to friends@diamonddancentre.co.uk
It has been decided that all funds raised will go towards ‘School Team Building’, which will benefit everybody and not just individual groups.

The ‘Friends of the Diamond Dance Centre’ committee would like to thank all those Grandparents who supported us last year. The events organised were very successful and details of the monies raised went towards helping the dancers.
We hope to arrange five or six events this year details of which you will find in the news letter. Our first event will be to provide a cake stall on Saturday 10th March 2012, so if any Grandma’s or Grandpa’s specialise in cake making we would appreciate your help, which was so willing given last year.
